Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Does anybody have any photos of Range rover tray backs preferably 4 doors?
Or is there anybody on here who is good on photo editing software that that could change my Range rover from a photo?

As you have probably guessed im thinking of chopping mine up and making it a tray back.

I know this isnt a Rangie, but this is one neat Disco 2 ute.

It is nice. I planning on cutting the cab down the middle of the back doors, so i have some room for the dog and things that need to be kept dry.

You might want to beef up the chassis once you cut the body. Jason and Steff's Tigger broke it's back earlier this year on the OBC and we reckoned it was down to loosing some of the strength from the "monocoque" type body shell after it was cut up. Or Jason might reply to argue the fact but it's just a thought.

I have seen some pics of Michael Hingerty's tray back Range rover it's very nice. Does anybody know of any photos or build pics of it?

My theory is there are two problems with the type of Ute conversion we had,
1. We had sill mounted bars that meant all the force from rocks was pressed against the cab. This causes the cab to exert force on the body mount brackets and this is our weakness was. To prevent this a) fit an extra body mount and strengthen the body mounting brackets b) have chassis mounted sliders.
2. Simply a brace on the curves of the chassis at the rear would add significant strength, by removing the floor section of the rear the chassis looses some of the rigid structure. I am no expert but by thinking about the process and looking at the design a lot of preventative measures can be taken.

Another option is to have the tray rubber mounted to allow the rear roll cage to be welded to the front.
