Air Con Fan

My A/C (condensor) fan has just sh*t itself. This is a pretty common thing to go and was wondering if any of you guys have had to replace yours and which way you went about it? It is pretty hard to pick one up 2nd hand and was thinking of having it rebuilt by an Auto Elec. Does anyone know of an aftermarkt replacement motor or anything along those lines?
Cheers

I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago with one I found at a wreckers as the one in the car would blow the fuse for the Air Con every time it was turned on.
Took the opportunity to upgrade to a bigger fan and wired it to a seperate switch so that it can be turned on independantly to the air con for a bit more air movement when doing slow off road work.

I haven't looked at my genII air con fan much. I know it has a bunch of saftey mesh all over the whole area to keep retarded individuals from sticking there fingers into the blade. I guess if you hacked all of that away you could get a bigger fan in there on a genII.

A Davies Craig DC10 is about the same size as the Paj A/C fan.
Their about $100 from Supacheap.
I removed my A/C system (including condenser) and attached two thick aluminium strips spanning the front of the radiator (mounted to the bodywork) and positioned the existing A/C fan on the drivers side and a DC10 on the passenger side. They are both wired to a dash switch to provide extra air flow on hot days (slow hillclimbs etc). This works really well.
A DC10 will fit ok but you will have to remove the condensor and push the bolts through at different points to suit the DC10 fan (bolt pattern isn't the same as the Paj fan).
I tried the wreckers for 2nd hand fans and the prices were beyond belief (if you can find one).

I looked at other Mitsu fans but couldn't find one with the bolt pattern I needed from memory it was 145mm hole centres (top to bottom).

Have an old magna fan lying round at work. Will have to pull mine out and match it up. Maybe the motor might swap over! If not it should still bolt up through the condensor. And looks bigger than the standard fan!
