Anyone here had experience with the "Extreme Valve bodies" that Wholesale Automatics sell? I'm putting a chev petrol motor in front of a A440 (or whatever they are called) auto from early 1990's cruiser. The advice I have been given is that the gears are very sluggish (or won't change at all) without getting the valvebody modded, but I'm wondering whether it is really necessary?

hey dude I have put one in a 4.5 turbo petrol 75 series cruiser and in stadard form the a440 is a sludgamatic and blew up in about 2 weeks of caining . So i sent it to the guys at automatics unlimited and they built a very strong box as it handles around 270hp at least and changes very hard and fast.

Yeah, tiler, canes this thing constantly, if he can get one to last anyone can. I am going to get a similar auto for my 5 litre V8 which is backed by a A440. Stock is poo. get mods. I think wholesale automatics guarantee that it will be better. You will blkow up a stock auto with a v8, they shift too slow, which causes slippage, wich causes heat, which causes blowup, only way to go is mods.
