shortys in sydney area

Post by j-top paj »

how many of us here have shortys?
would be good for us to all get together one weekend sometime to check out eachothers rigs and discuss mods etc...
ive seen one with 33s at least and lift that has been through my area a couple of times. not sure if the owner is on here...

Hi all, another swb from sydney. 31s is about it for mine as far as mods go (lol...are they even a mod?).

Let me know when there's an outing and I'll try and come along.

I'm on the northside.

If your heading out to Appin I'll tag along, after all it's in my back yard know the place well

Late Jan sounds good
Need to get new tyres fitted and find a longer handbrake cable
Just put a 96 2wd xtra cab on my 89 4wd single cab chassis, mate what a pain in the arse job but it's done now regoed yesterday. Reminder to self no more circle work after youve been drinking solid all day

If you don't mind other makes comming along I can get few more Appin regulars (crazy dudes) to come along

Good spot at the water hole for a barbie
Tip though DO NOT SWIM here as the bottom of the river has cracks from the mining which, so they say, will suck you undergroung never to be seen again

We also have a little warm up area behind Macarthur Square at Campbelltown, might be a good meeting point
If your really keen we can Appin in the morning and Menai in the arvo, better still make it a camp out with a day of each
Wouldn't mind checking out Kurnell sand dunes, are you still allowed to drive there?

cheers

that'll do - and crawler gears if ya got em.

That's not true - I wanna watch others break shite.

All I'm saying is if were gunna be a taking out a bunch of shorties we should be testing their capabilities. Stockies are more capable than people think (and push) BUT the more mods; the better tracks can be tackled.

Both Appin and Menai have chicken runs around most hard stuff
Normally o few good mud holes at Menai

My old girl is only stock but it amazing how well it keeps up
My mate gets the shits cause I go where he goes with 4in susp lifted Patrol
Just gotta choose my lines a little more carefully

If you can crawl over it bounce over it
If you cant drop off it, launch off it
Thank you for the heavy factory bash plates

By the end of Jan I will have fitted 32x10 g11 Yohohamas for the road and 33/35 x 12.5 G01 for the mud and crawling. I will be itching for a good trip to test em out.

Guys I go to Appin regularly
Just got back from a six hour run actually
Truck held up, need new tyres though

Caught up with a crew from Wgong out there. This dude in a early patrol shorty (just paid $250 for it) done the steps flat out letting the bounces take him where ever. Man what a sight, crazy

tell you what its dry out there, a friggin dust bowl,

If you like I will lead the trip as I know the track prety well
Let me know

Check out this thread
I was going to stay at home for the day but...

Alright finally got my roster
I am off weekends of 28-29/01 and 04-05/02

Sunday 05/02 would be best for me
We could meet up at campbelltown somewhere near the motorway then drive to Appin together

Thought we could drive in for an easy couple of hours firts up.
Then back to pub for lunch. Park accross the road where we can fire up a BBQ
For the arvo we could do bit of crawling and the bog hole. (chickens go home)
Bog holes not too big but still fun

Bring your own snatch and shackles

Who's in?
Whats the best weekend?

Cheers

Is that like a smutty code for girlfriends and wives are invited. :D

I'm guessing I will be there - which ever weekend is chosen works for me. Pub (if it's crap weather) or BBQ (if it's fine) sounds like a plan for lunch and that way if you only want to show for a morning scenic drive or an arvo of crawling the day can be split up.
