ZD30 - trouble starting, engine light on
Posted: Wed Dec 14, 2005 6:29 pm
Went to start my car, acc, to wait for glowies, car makin a click click click click noise. popped bonnet to try to find out where it was coming from.
Ended up pulling out the jumper leads, tried to get it going for a while. Hilux didnt provide much power to charge the battery. But it sounded like it should have started from the amount of oomf it did have. (not full, but enough i think.)
tried that for 5 mins or so, and then sat back and waited for a while, had another crack and boom it started.
But the engine light is on?
Any similar problems anyone? Thought i would just ask see what i get back...
Its been running sweet until now... No build up of problem. Just went to work. At 7:30, went to leave at 5:30 and... damn...
Getting it looked at tomorrow
for the record the elecs were doing funnythings before starting. Ie. clicking while in acc stopped when brakes where put on, clicking noise slowly slowed to a stop while in acc (dead battery?) no indicators/radio etc (probably dead batt again, as the indicators did work to start with, no radio/aerial response though)
Oh, and all you "get a 4.2" or "get a toyota" people,
yours in advance!
