I have a 99NL 3.5l Pajero

It's hit 217 000.

I had the belts done at 200 000 and have since read that the Water Pump needs to be done as well.

What else should I do ( Not to flushed for funds)

It's had Mobil 1 thru it since I've had it and done every 15 000 km

hi,

Since the cost of the water pump is low, it is generally recommended that you change the water pump, timing belt tensioners, when the timing belt is done.

regarding service, depends on the last service/history, and what has been done over the last 50K. Perhaps fluids, plugs, grease points, etc. I am sure someone else will add more to the list.

cheers,
John

If it aint broke dont fix it.
I changed my belt at 200 000ks, than about 5000ks later the pump started leaking. This was helped by adding a high consentrate of antifreeze.
Since funds are low, Id wait until it starts leaking. Unless yor planning a big trip. I wish someone had mentioned the pump before I changed the belts. You might be lucky and it last another 100 000ks.

I'd change the sparkplugs and the belts too. And check for leaks in the radiator while you're there.
