What does everybody think of these? Are they worth it?

Yes, I have a similar sock for my 110 snorkel..
Used is mainly on the cape with finer filter oil. Caught a lot of dust there that I suppose otherwise would have ended up in my main filter.

I have their "condom" variant that slides inside the snorkel tube...LOVE it...eliminated my filter al-together (was supposed to inform you guys about it, but forgot) - breathes "faster" (if there is such a thing)

I used to have one, ripped easily, not that effective. I run a propper precleaner now. Much much better.

I agree - a proper cyclonic precleaner (donaldson type, etc) is a much better idea. Cyclonic precleaners remove the really big dust particles (above 10 microns or so - which is really big when you are talking about dust), and allow the main filter element to remove the fine ones (thereby reducting the overall loading rate of the main filter). The filter sock would sort of do the same thing, but likely with a lower efficiency, and over time the pressure drop (equivalent to power drop) across the precleaner remains constant, whereas a snorkel sock would increase in pressure drop over time as it loads.

I Agree with Isuzu Rover,
I had no room under the bonnett of the RR after I fitted the 4BD1 and turbo etc to use the stock Air filter box, and the problem was getting something that would be BIG enough to allow enough air in because under full boost the intake pipe to the turbo used to suck itself in....
I ended up with a formula 3000 air intake filter sock in my snorkel, it was designed for use in a 4" inlet for these open wheelers etc, this worked well until it became partially blocked, insects etc even caused this!
I'm manufacturing an air box to take the MA onwards 3.9 Disco V8 air filter, and try a donaldson type precleaner also for the really dusty stuff.
The County110 Isuzu had fantastic dual element air filters, but sadly won't fit under the RR's bonnett!
