G'day guys,

Been looking around the forum for a little while now and have just taken the keys to a neat little zook with Calmini's 5" setup insalled.

The articulation for this kit is quoted at 25".... hows that measured because this ones got the front left wheel on a 9" ramp and the car tips between the front right and back left.(this is on narrow stock wheels - larger, wider tyres on the way)

So is it possible to remove one of the leaves in the each spring? There has to be some way for softening up the Calmini suspension without changing the whole setup. Thanks in advance.

Yep, you can do that. Removing leaves will make the pack softer. So will using longer leaves, so will using thinner leaves and so will using narrower leaves. Obviously removing leaves is the most practical but all those attributes affect the spring rate of a leaf spring.

Any reason in particular you want to keep the Calmini kit?

Thanks thats great, taking things out is the easy bit. The calmini suspension seems to have its downfalls according to a lot of people......wouldent mind softening up the springs and using them with an SOA conversion instead of the reverse shackle parts attached. Havent had it long though so theres a few other things to get on with......like driving :)
