I was wondering does anyone know what people do with the fuel tanks in SWB when they stretch them? Ones which havent been turned into tray backs? Also I was watching this years Outback challenge and was really impresswed by Dean Killmurrays shorty

Does anyone know how he has set up his suspension or who did it fot him?
Thanks again.

Ring Cheezy racing..
I think he can answer all of your questions. Even about dean killmuray.. I may be thinking about a different guy, though, Is it a red shorty ? With A-frame rear, dual shocks, ute conversion and a stretch..
Fuel tanks usually get a custom midmounted relocation. Obviously if you keep it in wagon/chopped wagon form size and space are limited. Going full trayback would be much much easier. Have the option of mounting high. I am sure if you search around you will see a few pics of midmounted tanks, they would be fairly similar to the midmounted tank used in dual-fuel applications...
Do a search in the members forum on Bartso's MWB conversion. He wacked a ute body and streched the rear back, with a weld in aframe, by a few inches to accomodate dual transfercases. While not being in wagon form, doing it this way certainly makes it a little easier...
