Im not too familiar with MQ/K's... but on a GQ on the passenger side inner guard inside the engine bay there is a hole that goes thru which the snorkel fits thru..

But since you said you're making a snorkel.. so i guess thats tubework you're plannin to use.. then in that case.. wherever it suits you and that woudl be dependant on the airbox location i guess.

The best bet would be to go down to your local 4wd shop and see if they have any old stensils for say a safari snorkel and borrow that. It will give you the exact spot as to where to put it. To cut the hole you will need either a hole saw, or a jigsaw with some tape on the slide (So you dont damage the paint work). Hope this helps and good luck.

theres a hole on the inner guad, it sits just behind my 2nd battery tray, abd i dont think there will be enough room for me to get some flexy pipe or 90mm pvc in there. safari didnt make a snorkel for the petrol MQ/MK so i dont think i can get a stencil for it then.. i'll just getout the drill and hacksaw and give it a shot... its only a bit of pannel damage and possible a few extra speed holes.

thanks

Use a hole saw for best looks, then use a small drill, say 3mm on the inner guard with hacksaw to open it up to 90mm i did this on mine & came up fine
I wouldn't use pvc anymore, it breaks to easy. my new one will be rubber bends & stainless which will give a bit of flex in the event of hitting it
