I am thinking of buying a shower unit (glind, piranha) for the wife and was thinking maybe I might be able to connect it to the caravan (for outside use) useing a quick release hose set up. What I wanted to know is would the pump be strong enough to push it that far? About 14 metres, and still have a good shower?

Can't see why not, i have about an 8 metre pickup hose on my shower unit and it works just fine. The pumps can usually push a lot further than they can suck, but then that depends a lot on what kind of pump you are useing. I'm useing an auto cutout type that cost me about $125 the brand of which escapes me just at present but look into it before you buy your shower. I have a stainless heat exchanger which didn't come with a pump so i am not sure what the glind comes with. Do your homework first is all i can say. Good luck with it............Pete! ;)

The stainless one came with a previous patrol i had and the guy hadn't bothered to finish the job, that's why i had to buy a pump. Don't ask me the name of the stainless heat exchanger as it is a cleanskin.....Pete!. ;)

If youve got a manual truck could you fit an auto radiator and pump water through the transmission part as a heat exchanger for hot water?
Has any body tried this?

Check out Bias Boating for pumps they have ones specifically for hot water and do mail order

Register on line for the catalog mailing list. Lots of good stuff for fitting out trucks and camping

Injected, dunno if auto rad would add enuf heat, mite make it warm only. Most showers I've seen like to get a fair bit o pipe in the hot section. But like I sed, u mite get a warm shower, which is betta than cccold.
