Man, this car is giving me the @$#@$@#$#@$#'s!

On Christmas day, was driving and when I put the clutch in it just stalled..... Just happened like that!

Now, it idles when started at about 600 (if that) and missing - seems ok under accelleration but if you lift off it misfires and if you lift right off it just stalls completely.....

Checked the plugs - they are all black with carbon (ie, running way rich) - pulled the air filter off was slightly better but not much (I run a pod anyway)!

The fourth plug (one closest to cabin) also has oil on it :(.

Getting a new ignition coil (the current one looks original - 15 years and 208000 KM's old! - resistance is twice what the book says) and oxy sensor (getting a universal - one for Daihatsu quites $178!!!!!).

The lead from the head to the EFI unit weas clogged with oil - cleaned it but hasn't helped.....

Anyone think of anything else? Only got the head redone, shaved, etc, with belts, leads, dizzy cap, timing belt, etx about 5000K's ago!

:(
:? :x

Found it - the problem seemed to happen when I took a gutter a bit fast... .First inspection looked ok, I just did a 'feel' along all the lines - one of the vacuum lines had dropped off and the connector went missing......

So one on, one off, car runs like @#$@#$#@#@

All shops shut so found a 'long' one and cut a but off to get me going - all great now :D

All I need to do is buy 10 metres of the stuff and replace all the half broken ones and It should be good.....

@#$@# Car

The line is only $4 a meter at Autobahn - I just purchased their last 5 Metres and will be back for more once I am done with that - all the lines in mine are oldm cracked and dying - I am sure there are small gains for the $20 outlay I can make!

Unfortunately I dont think your bodgi vacuum line caused the oil in number 4 :(

I just went through the oil on plugs problem. Pockets aRe much lighter these days !
