GQ second battery tray & Safari snorkel issues

I just installed an ARB second battery tray in my TD42 GQ and noticed that the flexible hose of the snorkel needs to be stretched a fair bit to make room for the second battery.
I think this might damage the hose in the long term and it might be better to find a way to extend the hose by 15 to 20 cm.

I talked to my local ARB shop and asked them how they solve this problem but they were not very helpful as I only bought the tray there and installed it myself.

Is there an easy way to extend the hose and where do I get the materials from?

Cheers

Joachim

Hmm, looks like the hose that connects to the snorkel (the one that comes with the Safari snorkel) is shorter on mine. I have to stetch it big time (15 cm) to clear the battery. Otherwise my setup is identical to yours Bruce. I'll have another look.

Buy some longer flex hose, make your life easier... I had to have a mount made up for the inner guard for it to mount to.

Piranha Battery Tray as ARB one wouldnt fit, hose I got from Purple Pig, and had awill4x4 make the mount for the innerguard.

i run the same battery tray (ARB TD42) in my petrol shorty. had to relocate the coil and other bullshit, but my flexible hose still fits in, although not as good as bogged's does. i have left the hose longer incase of any future changes.

here is a pic, i have mounted the coil (GT40R) on the side of the batter tray on the firewall side.

Thanks for your help guys.
I've put in the second battery in today and the short of the long is, the Safari flexi hose that came with my snorkel is just a tick too short. I'll go to Truckline next week and see if I can get something.
Still have sort out all the wiring for my dual battery setup.

Cheers
