getting more power from my 4ye

hi all I'm after a bit of advice on getting more power out of my 4ye... just come back from the new cars maiden trip and it went well apart from that  The motor was rebuilt by the prev owner 10k ago so its really good but still underpowered when hitting the highway or soft sand fully loaded :? What is the best way to get that extra bit of horsepower? I don't need it to go really fast just a bit more than its got.

Forced induction - I don't know much about it so throw ideas at me. Would the ecu cope with a mild boost (6-8 lbs). Obviously need a custom manifold for exhaust if turbo or a new pulley system for s/c + blower (what kind?) but anything else?

Internal mods - cam, match port and so on but how much could I get and still be a driveable well behaved thing?

thanks

bump :?

can anyone tell me at least whether I'm able to tune it with light head work, a sligthly bigger cam and so forth :?: Will I need to bugger around with the ecu or will it just adapt based on what the sensors tell it :?:

maybe this will be better in general tech :?:

yeah I know

reason I'm looking for other options first with my current motor is that its sooo much easier to keep the motor and especially no. of cylinders the same ... for reg & insurance etc. (yes I know a blower would screw insurance anyway... that was a bit of dreamin  )

the motor is nearly new so I might just ring the sh!t out of it till it dies and then worry about it
