sorry to the guys out there that are sick of reading these threads but i cant find the relevant info in search (feel free to make me look like a dumbass by putting a link up)

will be fitting adj. trailing arms in my GQ shorty soon partly to fix the small vibrations I have, but more so to push the diff/wheels back to being bit more central in the wheel arch with the 3" lift.

Can I get away with just fitting the lowers for now (or uppers if they'll suit my cause better) or do i have to bite the bullet and get both upfront??

Cheers

Simon

There should be no real need for HD uppers. As I have never heard of anyone breaking them. But the lowers I would go HD ones for sure. I have heard of a large number of these either being bent or broken.
When I get my next set made I will get them about 16mm longer so as to combat the tail shaft vibs.

just get a set of adjustable lower arms, and it should be the answer to all your questions :D

i have seen lower arm bend from rocks etc & upper arms failing from flexing/metal fatigue.
i would fit heavy duty non adjustable lowers & adjustable uppers.
about $650 for all four. this includes factory bushes

I agree with Johnz, adjustable arms aren't as strong as fixed arms. You want fixed lowers as these need to be strong and adjustable uppers as these don't get bashed around as much.

I agree with turps, just get HD lowers and be done with it, uppers never get touched.

i have a GQ shorty with 3" lift and like carl is getting have 16mm longer lower arms made by Cheezy Racing, have smashed them on many rocks and are still going strong. At such a cheap price i am shocked how i ran standard lowers for sooooo long. :?

Also i dont run gearbox packers at all, but as i have been told by everyone on OL, every GQ shorty is different when it comes to vibes :D

Totaly agree, uppers will only be needed if u lift higher and a DC joint is needed...
