Lux swivel hub shims?

Just stripped the front diff in a RN46 to do the hub bearings and the shims that were in there were different top and bottom. Both left and right upper shims were 0.3mm and both bottom shims were 1.0mm. Is this normal? I don't know the history of the car so don't know if this is factory fitment or if someone else has been in there. Bearings on one side looked almost new while the other side they had almost disintegrated.
How do you go about checking the axle centering? There was a fair bit of oil in the side that had the good bearings but none in the side with the stuffed ones?

Just fit the shims back were they were with new bearings and all will be fine. It is common to have odd shims from factory i made up a centreing tool years ago when i used to fit disc's to early cruisers and that the only time it was required.
