Outer Limits 4x4 Board

anyone got any tips or techniques for doin a reasonably decent alignment at home? i've done my axle swap, but have steering issues, and it doesn't seem to be castor related. so need to check the alignment.

i dont really want to take it to a shop, cause i think they'll have a heart attack when they see its got heims for steering instead of balljoints. unless someone knows a good place in brisbane who'd look at it and not freak about it?

piece of string and measure from edge of tyre on one side and measure on the other side and work out the difference and adjust accordingly?

that's how I do mine. tho on mine there is no other adjustments.

if you just want to measure toe, jack the front up, spin each tyre, and mark the centre of the tread with a piece of chalk. so you have a circumferential line around each tyre. then measure up off the ground and mark a convenient height that will work at the front and rear of each tyre and measure left to right.
if it is slapping or wobbling try a little bit of toe-out. start around 4-5mm.

you wont no about castor issues until u put on a machine.

Call into a wheel alignment place and just have a chat to them, some stores can be pretty 'relaxed' about what you've done to your rig and will do the work with no heart attacks.. or they could point you in the direction of a wheel alignment specialist who can help
