just wondering if anyone may know how to adjust the fuel flow on an 85 2.3T dies as the one I have is leaving a smoke screen behind it

sure its the pump? not your seals in the turbo going out this happened on my friends 2.3 just a fog of burning oil, if it is the fuel there is a adjusting screw on the back of the pump its behind a cover I'll have to look at one of my manuals to give you exacts on how to adjust. I'll check when i get home from work.

I pritty shure it is not the turbo as I have just fixed that up, the smoke is pure black and lots of it which is why i am pritty shure it is the fuel adjustment.

Have you checked the condition of the Air Filter? A blocked air filter can give lots of black smoke. Maybe try running it for a bit with no filter and see if it still blows smoke!

I have since adjusted to fuel and cleaned out the air filter and the smoke is all but gone and even seems to have more power thanks
