I`m trying to put a oil pressure guage on my Lux, (3L ,2.8D ) I can unscrew the electric sendor, but when I try to screw in the brass fitting it only turns like 1/4-1/2 turn. Its enough to stop oil leaking out but when I put a spanner on the fitting to do it up it always falls off .

So with 1 finger covering hole I`ve screwed old sendor into the oil line adaptor ,screws in fine.So I know its the correct thread. Those that have fitted these before any tips on what im doing wrong so I can fit this guage tomorrow.

Also about what PSI should it be reading at idle and say 2,500rpm (its got just over 245,000) is non-turbo.Thats coming in march .

you will probably find the factory sender is a tapered thread which is much easier to get started

I had the same problem with my mechanical oil pressure guage. its an absolute bitch to get started probperly, you are probable cross threading it slightly which is what i was doing.

Only way i know is perserverance.

Or go and buy an adaptor with a tapered thread. I found the best place for these is not pirtek etc buth rather auto stores like autobarn or other places that stock guages as most of the adaptors are not common brass fittings.
