brake issues. HJ60

I have a HJ60 (83) and the front brakes are being tempremental.

I will set the scene with a mention of what I did before the problem arose. Basically I pulled the cv'c out to check them and repacked wheel bearings and so on. I did pull the calipers off the hub obviously, but I didnt undo any lines so I didnt feel there was a need to bleed the brakes. Put it all back together thinking it was sweet...it appears I was wrong...either that or just pure coincedence!

I just took it for a drive and it felt as if the front brakes were not working. Just did not want to pull up like it normally does. When I got home I did a lock up test on the front lawn (where else would you do it) and neither of the front tyres locked up...leaving the lawn looking just as it did before the test. Though the disc itself was hot...not burn to touch hot....but hot

So I jacked up the front end and got the wheels spinning as fast as I could (by hand) and got my navigator (wife) to hit the brakes...they appear to work.

So I did another lock up test, and the passenger side locked up! but the drivers didnt.

The pads did move in the calipers when they were out but I am sure they went back into proper position.

So should I of bled the brakes? Would this be probably caused by something not related to pulling hubs off. I have checked brake lines and there are no kinks.

Any tips would be great!

Try bleeding them first its the easiest thing to try

caliper guides not a bit bent? I know mine didn't slide properly when i put mine not exactly how they originally were, because they were bent.
