60 Series Diffs into a 40 Series Shorty

Hey all, been reading through all the tech info on fitting 60 series components to a 40 series. What a wealth of information.
I have just bought a complete running and registered 60 series that I am planning on using for parts for one of my 40 Shortys and have started measuring up the diff housings.
It looks like the track is about 70mm wider than the 40, this I'm thinking is a good option. But when looking at the spring mounts, it looks like these need to be cut and moved.
The 60 looks like it is about 70mm wider than the 40.
Can the mounts be modified to suit, do they have to be? Looking at the drivers side mount, it doesn't look like it can go any further to the centre as it would be riding up the pumpkin. I'm sure it can be done as I have heard and read posts here of 60 diffs in a 40.

How do I do this?

Cheers
Corry

Yeh can be done and have done a few times the saddle does ride up the pumkin and the U-bolt wont fit between the spring and the centre when bolted in. I done it with 75 series spring perches, saddles and U-bolts.
The rears no problems at all.
