It is possible to overfuel it and put extra unwanted heat into the motor. Is it blowing heaps of smoke now.

get yourself a pyro which measure exhaust temps if its going over 550 degrees your doing your motor harm

When installing the Pyro where is the best place to put it? I would guess closer to the turbo on the exhaust outlet side but that would be just that... a guess.
Thinking of getting one for my turbo GQ as I've recently had a dyno tune up and whilst I got a 50% increase in rear wheel HP and a greater increase in torque, now the car is belching black smoke, using shitloads of diesel and running substantially hotter on the engine temp gauge (factory idiot gauge not capillary type). I watched the tune job and there was no sign of a temperature sensor at all ... they just used a exhaust gas analyser.
Cheers
