Jimny G13bb into SJ80

Hi all, I'm new here and need a bit of advice.
I have tried the search, and also checked the tech bibles, but not found what i am after.
I saw a post or two regarding swapping the G13BA from the SJ80 coily for the G13BB from the early Jimnys.

What I want to know is; will it be a straight bolt in mod (besides the ecu wiring) or is there more to it? What sort of dollars will the engine set me back.

Besides the efi, is there a benefit? more hp? better fuel econ?
I have the 1.3 at the moment, with extractors and a decent exhaust, and a holley 180 to feed it. it goes well as is, but i'm looking for more.

Also i was hoping to install the air con unit from the jimny as well, and the power steering down the track, is this possible? (before you say "why don't you just get a jimny" i'll answer; They're ugly)

Anyways, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The BA and the BB engines are very similar except for induction. It (should) be a straight bolt in.

There will be some complications with the wiring though - you will have to set up the VSS ( I have done this by fitting a vitara efi speedo into a sierra gauge cluster, an all but bolt in)

Likewise, I believe that jimny power steer is a bolt in too.

however, I would be surprised if the motor felt much stronger than your holley + extractor equipped BA. There have also been some durability questions raised about the BB motors, particulary in relation to bore longevity.

If you were chasing efi drivability and stock motor convenience, for sure I would say go with the BB, but for power, there would have to be a better outcome by building a hybrid with a swift GTI head or similar, for the same or less money.

it is a strait bolt in.

the airbox needs brackets made.
use the sierra gearbox.

wiring is very easy to do,you can use the whole loom and just change some plugs, or strip the crap out and just use the engine loom.

the power steer goes strait on with no probs.

the air cond will not fit. not the under dash parts anyway.

as for power i have to DISAGREE with above.i pick these over a 1.6 efi anyday. actually i just picked it over a v6 vitara engine also. these have very good power and are smoother than a 1.6.

not being easy to find the 13bb can go from $1000 to $2500 price being reasonably. but you need to ask yourself with the higher end of the dollar side, do i want to go a 1300 or a 1600.
