1HZ...Valve stem seals.

Hi all...Does the head have to come off the 1HZ to relace the valve stem seals ?
it can be done on car if you have a really good compressor the piston your doing at that time at tdc and air fittings to tap into the
cylinder chamber ie threw the glow plugs and plenty of time and patience
but generally yeah take the head off
