retroing a diesel sucker to a petrol

Guys
help me out here please.... i want to use a diesel sucker pump to run my brake vacuum and cruise control,....is the easiest way boltinng on a alternator? or is there a better way????

Yea slap a diesel sucker oil pump on, wont hurt to try.

Andrew, you can find
an electric vacuum pump like these:
They are designed for cars with aggressive camshaft profiles that don't generate much manifold vacuum. If you can't source those down under, let me know.

Thats a different approach i hadnt thought of :@) A little xxxxy...thinking it would be $500 aus. But a few overtimes instead of lying over the engine would fix that!!

Some Audi, Saab and Volvo cars come with electric vacuum pumps for cruise control, but I have no idea if they make enough vacuum for your intended purpose. But it may be worth checking at the wrecking yard.
