Ive just installed some new AVM free wheeling hubs and im wondering what lubrication im meant to put on them? The instructions say they they are permanently lubricated and dont need anything, but i thought id make sure because the last thing i need is to break new parts!
So do you guys lubricate free wheeling hubs and if so, with what?

Hub lubrication
Here (in Russia) in winter time the grease is unusable, as it thicken. I have re-oil hubs each 5000 km simultaneously with greasing knuckles, spring shackles and other components.Justin_M wrote:I did end up using a little bit of oil in the hub, its not exactly easy to get more than a dribble in there! I guess it might be wise to re-oil the hub atleast monthly.
Also I've check the lubricant condition of the front axle components after a wade through deep rivulets.
if you are that fussed drill and tap a 6mm hole in the hub and oil it with a syringe through that. personally i think the avm are sloppy enough to need a hint of grease or something like vmx90. a hp film strength additive in the oil is good so no mibile gear or other industrial thick oils.
