Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I'll be ordering some airshocks for my zook in the next month, which will most likely be Swayaways Racerunners, but I'm not sure what length I should be getting.

Originally I thought I'd just get the 18" ones so I can get the most amount of flex, but from what I've read on Pirate these might be more likely to unload on the zook and cause more problems than a smaller airshock. I'm guessing I'll need limiting straps (or small supercheap winches) on either end to help with them onloading anyway. So is there any set rule with what size shock to get?

It's for my zook which is currently on hilux diffs with coils and 3 link + panhard front and rear. The front will keep the same 3 link + panhard with crossover high steer, and the rear will be a-framed with one of Dobbin Engineering joints. It'll be running 37 Iroks....

I might be wrong...but with 18" shocks front and rear, the arse end would out perform the front way too much and you would end up with a front wheel in the air.

Probably would make it too unstable and it would want to torque twist too much.

I think the rear could handle that much travel, but the front could not.

You could then use limiting straps...but then what would be the point of 18" shocks?

I brought the 16s fro my zuk. My idea was extra 1" of oil and limit straps 1" from full extension, so they are now 14s. Im thinking if i lift a wheel atleast i have the weight of that wheel trying to stop me from falling over, with 18s u would probley of fallen over to far befor u lift a wheel. With 18s the shocks will stick through the bonnet.
