UNDERheating V8

I have an 86' RR with EFI V8. I've only had it a month or so and seem to have fixed a 'missing' problem. One of the 'new' plugs wasn't showing signs of combustion even though it would spark just fine out of the head. I removed the injectors and found that the rubber gromet in the head was twisted and grooved so have deduced that this was allowing too much air in for proper combustion.
My current problem is that I can't get any heat into the motor and hence no heat out of the heater.

I've flushed the radiator, changed the thermostat (an after market one), radiator cap (also after market) and coolant. I've also removed the viscous fan completely. If I let the car idle, it will run fine and the guage will get to almost half, then the electric fan for the air-con will cut in. All seems good, except the radiator is barely warm. If I drive the car for 30 minutes the guage will be just of the start mark and get no higher, I will have 'stuff all heat out' of the heater, and the radiator will still be barely warm.

Another thing I've noticed is that even after letting the car sit overnight, the radiator is still under full pressure.

I'm starting to think that the hoses have been mixed up, or swapped and that the thermostat is being bypassed somehow.

Any ideas.

Sounds like a stuffed thermastat to me new one or not.

Check temp sender: remove wire from sender ground it gauge should go to hot if not guage stuffed if it does sender stufed.

But if the rad is not getting hot orthe hoses then look at the t/stat.
