Did you have a decent (not factory) skid over it?
Splitting of the factory units isn't that common.
There isn't a steel tank off the shelf - you'd need to get it custom made....the benefit is you might be able to get it a bit bigger capacity.
The more cost effective solution would be another plastic tank and a decent steel skid plate.
