I'm jamming some 35's under my swb 70 series (PZJ70) and wanna know if anyone has got the extra offset rockcraler rims from procomp fitted to a 7x series?
If so how much extra track do you get? Do you notice the rims rub at all, do the rub on the lip of the gaurd??
And how do people find the rockcrawler rims in general??

On a side note, some of my mates reckon white rims are the only way to go and others reckon black looks horn.. I'm going black with the rockcrawlers...fingers crossed it'll make my 'white' mates think twice!!

Cheers
Dan

thanks anyway for the reply!
Yeah, I have brought em..the 15x8 Rims with 35" Procomp Muddies.
They've been great so far.. havnt noticed any wear in my bearings but I'll keep an eye out for that.. Thanks for the heads up.

Incidentally for anyone else considering these rims..
I had to grind approx 5mm off the brake calipers (1990+ x70) which basically meant removing the first of the 3 ribs on the caliper. Theres not about 1 mm clearance and havnt had any probs.. theres still plenty of meat left on the piston chamber so strength of the caliper shouldnt be an issue..

cheers.

Are these flipped rims, or just the largest offset available? Do they rub on the outer lip of the guard? and are you running a body lift? I desperately need more width!

These were just standard Landcruiser offset Rockcrawler rims.. The reason I had to grind the calipers was that the Rockcrawler rims have a lip on the rear of the spokes.. extra offset rims would have still caused me the same problems as it is due to the angle of the spokes and the aforementioned lip.. moving the centres out (ie: extra offset) wouldn't solve the problem.
I actually wanted the extra offset rims.. to help stop the 35's rubbing on anything.. but with the standard ones they are fairly good... Mine rub as follows:

Slight rub against the springs on full lock
Slight rub against the chassis cross tube by the inner sidewall on the rears when at max articulation

No rubbing on outer lips..But.. I do have a 2" body lift AND I moved the front axle forward by 30mm

cheers

i have HZJ75 calipers on my middy and had to grind some metal off to fit my sunraisers on (33 bfg's). then i put procomp rockcrawler rims and 35 claws, had to put spacers on as well as the grind to clear

Does anyone know if the 16x8 rockcrawlers will foul on the calipers? ('87 HJ75)

Sick of buying rims that don't fit :bad-words: At least if these don't fit easily i can take em back.

I had the same problem on the 73 with the standard offset rims... had to grind the caliper.

I have 60mm body lift and 2in susp lift and procomp x-terrains.

The lugs just rub the leaves at full lock on the front andthe rears rub the chassis rails at about 1/3 to 1/2 articulation. If I corner hard enough it'll rub too. I'mm looking at the extra off set rims in a couple of weeks. Still gotta price getting mine cut and flipped vs buying the pro-comp ones new.

Also, sorry for the hijack, but I was reading in the beadlock thread that modifications to the wheels are illegal. Does that mean flipped rims are illegal too?

Are you running 15 or 16" rims? what brand?

Pretty sure flipped rims are illegle. I'm almost certain the increade in track would be, too.

at a guess i reckon the 16x8's would probably rub as well..its due the the rockcrawlers having a fairly pronounced lip on the rear edge of the spoke holes.

being 16's they probably have a shallower dish on the centre so may rub more???
best bet would be to grab one before you buy and have a look.. bolt it up too cause when you sit it there it looks ok, but then you go to torque it up, bugger me if there isnt a tiny gap between the rim and the hub.

On a side note: I also believe that the centres are the same regardless of the backspacing (they are just welding in a different location relative to the inside edge of the rim) so they'd rub just as much regardless of backspacing

Well my 16" rockcrawlers rub on my brothers hilux - i assume they'll rub on my 75 too (find out next week). Hopefully i won't have to do too much grinding!

For the record - 16x8" Rockcrawlers fit on my HJ75 without any grinding of the caliper or otherwise.

Thats good that it worked out for you DB.
Come to think of it, when you mentioned that it fit your HJ75 without any dramas I think I recall that its only the HZJ75's that require modification to the caliper as they use different front disc calipers??

I think this may be correct.. anyone know for sure?

Does anyone have Landcruiser rims with a backspace between stock (3.75in) and the Procomp extreme offset (1.25in)?

I figure 1.25in is overkill (bearingkill!) but hoping someone might have rims or spacers I could try (in exchange for beer of course) to work out how far to get mine moved when I get them re-welded

Anywhere in / around Melbourne is good. Geelong area can be good too.

Thanks in advance

v8 middy, what sort of spacers are you after? i have some of those multi fit approx 5mm spacers if that's what you are after

I think I'll need to go 1-1.5in wider... I just want to test a spacer or offset rim and ramp it up to see how wide I really need to go.

Thanks anyway.
