hi all,
i had a high temp reading while climbing some twisting bitumen roads, that high that the car spluttered as i slowly moved it to a safe place on the side of the road. found the radiator bloked with bugs and mud, cleaned all up no temp problems since.but still had engine malfunction alarm up, could not reset by disconecting battery so took to auto electrician,on the way i filled up with diesel and on restarting car alarm was gone, got the auto to check and see what the alarm was anyway and he said it was a code 34 needle lift sensor but does not know what it means.does anyone know what this means. the car is a gu 2.8 turbo diesel.

cheers rob :? :? :?

The needle lift sensor is located in number 1 injector. It tells the ecu when no 1 cylinder is firing, by sensing needle lift. Quickest and cheapest option would be finding a 2nd hand injector with this in it. Must be from a 2.8 tho.
