EGT Q's

Done a fair bit of reading about EGT's on outers. When people are talking about running at 500-550 degrees is that an absolute max or is that just the norm where it sits.

I've just bolted up my CT-20 to my 3L and have it running at about 9lb of boost. On the freeway between the Gong and Sh!tney mine sits between 450-500 but climbs above 600 on some of the hill climbs. Is this bad???

I have turned the fuel up a bit but not much and the car isn't blowing any smoke that I can see.

Any advice would be helpfull.

Depends on the motor, eg: 1HDT runs at 550, but a 1HDFTE runs at 720 (I think they are the right figures ?)
I'm not sure about a 3L, best to check with a deisel tuner.

The probe is mounted in the cast dump pipe after the turbo.
