Outer Limits 4x4 Board

G'day all,
I have an 82 Mq swb sd33, it has the original alt. and reg. About four weeks ago i was changing a vacum line at 2.30am and forgot to isolate the batteries, anyway i dropped the alt. onto the chassis rail and ever since then i have had elec. probs. that i can't figure out, if anyone has done this before or had the same problem i would appreciate your advice.
I have changed the regulator, all relay's, fuse's (the 15amp eng. fuse was blown), fuse wire(green) i have also changed the dpcu unit glow plug timer and relay. The battteries are pretty flat after sitting there and trying to start it, i have clutch started it only top find even with the ignigtion on, and the engine running i still have no electrical response at all, no dash lights ,headlights just nothing, at first i thought the batteries might not have enough power, that's why i clutched it, hoping that with the ignigtion on and engine running it would charge the batteries, but no go. any help or advice would be great, cheers

Were there still wires connected to the alternator when you dropped it? If so, did they get tugged in a way that might have broken or damaged them either somewhere along their length or at the connectors?

I am wondering if maybe your main +12V cable on the alternator is damaged.

Do you have a multimeter? Is the alternator making power that isn't going anywhere? You are going to need at least an el cheapo multimeter to suss out the problem.

It would also help to be diagnosing this with a battery in good nick.
