well are you spaying inside and out, engine bay......

Also dont use a compressor under 15 CFM

A 2mm tip gun will let you spray most paints metalic, plain acrylics, 2pacs.

How many coats you gona do? depends on how much paint you will need.

If you done the whole lot in a couple of coats i would think around 8lt or so. Plus 4lt of clear. Thats whole lot engine bay inside the lot. This should also leave you with a bit of paint just incase of a touch up needed down the line.

Acrylic paints are cheaper then 2pacs and are more flexable, But 2pacs have a lot harder finish.

Also remember this, you can paint acrylic over a 2pac(with correct primer) but you cant paint 2pac over acrylic, as acrylic can flex and 2pac cant.

For now I am going to clean up the rust slap some paint on get it on the road. Then later on I will go back over and maybe even take it back to metal and put a rust preventer sealer on. So to answer the Q, outside only and acrylic for now. Only have a 10.5 cfm compressor at my disposal, will that be ok with the rite gun.

I would doubt that the CFM is high enough. You will probably get pressure drops as you spray giving uneven finish.

If looks arnt that important to you right now though give it a try.

4t should do you if your going to give it a fly by paint job.

Good luck
