Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Guys am after a good Diesel engine shop or a competant engine re-builder to check out my 2.4lte surf engine, has a ticking noise with fresh oil, not sure if it's tappets or what ?!
Anyone recomend a good shop that knows diesel engines. I tried a few of the big Diesel shops and they have said go to an engine re-builder and see what they say (I don't want a re-build just a check up )
Anyone got some info ?

My hilux had a ticking noise in it (2.8 with a DTS turbo) but it would only appear once around 90-100km/h and under load. Back off and it went away, slow down to 60 or have to change to 4th and it went away. Fawked if I could work it out.
After a decent highway run it usually went away for a while but since driving 1400km over Christmas it hasn't annoyed me since...
