04 ring and pinion into 94 Patrol

Post by jtraf »

Will these fit....

04 GU Patrol 4.3's into 94 GQ Patrol

and how much would it cost to have them fitted if I striped the centres out and had them ready to be fitted in....

If the 4.3's are out of a ZD30, I'd think not for the rear at least because because my 2001 ZD30 (family bus) has a h260 rear diff. As far as I know (which isn't very far) GQ wagons all have h233 and I'm pretty sure they aren't interchangeable. As I said, could be wrong.

The front should be ok.

The earlier GU (RD28T) had the h233 front and rear. That's the model I got my 4.6's from.

Hopefully putting this back to the top will get a diff expert in to answer.

Not all 3.0l GUs came with h260s, just like not all GU 4.8s came with h260 aswell, Nissan puts in whatever they feel like. So just check that both front and rear ring gears are both the same size......

Could it be manuals (in both ZD30 and 4.8) came with h260's?

I can't believe they'd just throw on whatever was on the rack.

Originally yes..... but Nissan does put a few ringers in,

Latest 4800 LSD centre is tiny in the friction disks

Not just 4.8s have these little LSD centres, have seen as early as 2002 and 4.2 diesel equipped GUs come with them.............. still work better than Toyota ones though!
