I am currently building up a GQ Shorty, I have cut the back off and extended the wheel base to 105" and will be doing an a frame set up.

I need to get the joint made up that sits on top of the diff as you can not buy them in NZ does anyone have details on the type of joint shown below or even better an Autocad drawing of one that has worked?

hehe....thats a pic of my joint....I haven't used it yet, and am not sure if I will yet....I was going to start a thread soon about going 4 link or a-frame on my zook.

I bought mine from Dobbin Engineering for $450....

Here is another pic of his kit.....but mine is made a little different to that.

I looked into making one up myself (drew most of it up in autocad), but in the end you wouldn't be able to get it made for what he sells them for.

I'll start a thread up today about wether to go a-frame on 4 link on mine, and depending on the outcome, you might be able to buy my joint if your interested.

That's very similar looking to the treg coupling for offroad vans and trailers.
May be worth looking into them as an alternative....
May also be a totally dumb idea

Ok doddzee heres some more pics of the joint with a tape measure...and some measurements....

The main shaft diameter is 30mm and its length is 125mm

The cylinder that the a-frame is welded to has a ID of 38mm and a OD of 55. Brass bushes are sized to suit the gap betwen the cylinder and the shaft.

Hope that helps...the pics are below.
