a tie rod end on my 2000 gu coil cab was shagged, the one on the pitman arm. so i bought a replacemant from nissan at $114. only issue is that the tie rod end is welded(not seized but actually mig welded) to the draglink. it looks like my draglink is a non servicable unit. tie rod ends welded both ends. is this cost cutting or what. and why did nissan sell me a tie rod end that does not suit my car?????

Early Gus had replaceable ends. Later ones not. Most purchase an aftermarket stronger arm with these replaceable ends on it. Allows you to centalise steering without touching box or steering wheel.
