Remove rear drive shaft. Put in 4wd. Repeat test.

Hi, is there any movement in the pinion shaft with the tailshaft connected. in other words is there not enough preload on the bearings or perhaps a collapsing bearing...
cheers

Thats pretty normal.
See if pinion goes up and down.
I would still suspect uni's .
Drop oil and check for metal. Report back with a pic.

yeah did the oil this morning one metal shard stuck on the magnet
no up down movement might turn the tail shaft around one night in the week as it was off for a new clutch but i am 100% it went back on the same way it came off.
what did you require the pic of bazzle?

well dont know why yesterday it didnt move but tonight just jumped under and gave it a good wobble and there is about a couple of mm movment in where the pinion seal is.
so i presume this seals it to be a bearing
