Is there another compressor on the market that has a small air tank built into it like the ARB??
I have heard alot of bad things about the ARB thats why Im asking if there is a alternative out there or do i just have to buy one and hope for the best?
I have no room to install a air tank but need one to run my air horns.
Thanks Shane

can you not find space for a 1ltr air tank somewhere?

A 1ltr tank would work, didnt know u could get them that small, bet there $$.
A small tank like that may be the go if it works out cheaper than a ARB and if there is no other brands.
Iv seen compressors on ebay for $70 that look alright. Want to mount it where the second battery would go on a hilux.
Thanks Shane

will get you a price, then you just need a pressure switch and a compressor to suit.

You can make a tank from some RHS steel with some ends welded on and some fittings threaded into it. If you are really only using it to run the air horns I think even $70 is more than you'd need to spend on the compressor, unless you use the horns a hell of a lot.

Yer the $70 compressor would be very over kill for just air horns, but would use it to pump up tyres if I go on the beach or get bogged going crabing.
I brought a 12ltr tank and compressor with pressure switch, thermal over load, guage, relief valve all in one with hose and tyre inflator for $170 from super cheap, that I was going to fit where the muffler usual goes under the tray. That is when I was going to turbo the hilux, now ive been looking into diesel gas and if I go that way the gas tank will have to go there. So know I’m looking at something a fair bit smaller.
I like the compactness (is that a word?) and simple install of the ARB, just don’t like the stories ive heard about them. I gather there is nothing simular to the ARB??
Thanks Shane

Have you still got the $170 supercheap one? If you have, I wouldn't try to find something else, I'd just try to find a decent spot to install it. It's pretty small - it has to fit somewhere!

yer still got it, but dosent fit anywhere. its L 500mm x H 300mm x W 200mm it takes up a fair bit of room. I to thought it would easily fit under a extra cab well body hilux but it dosent, and i dont want to mount it in the back.

What pressure do you intend to use in the tank. Why not go to a fire extinguisher place, and get a hold of a used 1kg dry chemical fire extinguisher. Chances are you would get it for nothing. Then just hunt around for the correct fittings.

the tjm ox compressor now comes with a tank for the prolockers and the pump is made by thomas and it will be a very reliable pump. Will be more expenisive then the arb though.
