hi i have a 2 inch lift in my 80 series want o put 315/75/16s on anyone know will this lift be sufficient or should it be bigger. also im after a set of mud tyres in this size. i can get bfg muds for $365 each or goodyear wranglers for $370 each am after a tyre which handles well on and off road any other suggestions on types of tyres for similar dollars

5in lift with king springs and 35in claws.

I'm running Wranglers and have been very happy with them. Good on the road and great in the bush. Not too noisy, and wearing well!

I have run 315's with a two inch lift. They will clear and work on articulation fine. The problem is when you load the vehicle up and hit a bump. ie the axle goes up straight. ie both wheels come up together, without articultion. It is this case only they will hit the flare.
That was the case for me anyway.

So what I'm saying is that they will be fine if your springs are stiff enough to stop the wheels from coming up together, to the point where they are level with the top of the flare. or you don't load it up.

So a two inch spring lift and a two inch body lift would run 315's quite easily?
I'm sure I read on here somewhere that someone had got a two inch spring and body lift had got it through the dept. of tpt. check here in QLD.

not necessarily.
It will hit if the body compressess so that the tyre goes up past the wheel arch.
If you hit a bump straight on with a load the chances are this could happen.

Articulation is fine as the wheel pulls in as one wheel comes up and the other goes down, therefore allowing the tyre to fit inside the arch.

basically the tyres dont fit in the arches unless under articulation.
