1. Does anyone know the wiring diagram for the feroza for installing a new head unit? I havent looked yet because my new one isnt here yet but im trying to get in early

2. I want to install speakers (one in each door) in the front doors but my problem is I have tried to install 2 spekers in the back, well I installed them but the crappy wood stuff that the trims are made out of in the feroza is crap and they have kinda fallen out, can anyone reccomend a cheap way to strenghten the trims?

I want to install a alarm as well with full central locking, and also get rid of the fuel smell so any pointers greatly appreciated

for strengthening
i have seen some suzukis (not sure about your model)
with checker plate
and some people have some nice speakers hanging off them...

central locking will be easiest to do whilst you install speakers (door trim off and everything)

Not the cheapest setup, 3mm checkerplate was about $50 all up... new jigsaw blade too... but looks the sh*t - just make sure you insulate the checkerplate against the steel, i used a thick foam tape sorta thing, but it still rattles a little under heavy bass, have to work on this... Also for when you ask, i attached them with small self tapping screws...

I ran 4 new speaker wires from the headdeck area to front doors and rear.

The wiring is straightforward, or you should be able to get a loom adapter from standard ISO plug to daihatsu from supercheap for $10.

You are well off installing central locking while installing the stereo / running the wires.

An alternative to the checkerplate is ordinary 3 ply. Use the old trim panel as a template, and varnish both sides for looks. Make sure you get decent looking ply.

I used Ply - cost more than checkerplate in the end, and looks like @#$@# cause the edging is pathetic.... And now a bit of rain came it is all water stained!

lol drewe thats bad luck... the edging on mine is pretty poor too close up, in fact, i didnt trim it at all, just got the dimensions right and the metal shop cut them up, they fit fairly nice, i could round the edging but havnt bothered... it does the job (support the weight of heavy 6x9s).

I just used some MDF for mine, probably like 12mm. Covered it in black vinyl. Have so far done the rears, bought panels to do the fronts when I get around to it. Previous owner stuck the damn front speakers right next to the adjustment for the front seat, sounds terrible.

Has anyone else noticed how much the doors in the Feroza rattle when you hit bumps? Flimsy bloody things. Hopefully it will be a little better after getting some skins that firmly attach rather then the dodgi cardboard things they put in stock.

Check that the clips holding your linings on are pressed in firmly. If they keep popping out, a small amount of electrical tape wrapped around the "pin" should make 'em hold better.

Regarding your fuel smell - apparently it's caused by a leaking 1 way valve. Here's a link to a previous post.

Yes, it's also in the FAQ and IIRC I've even had PM's in the past from Jason about it and explained where to look/ what to do!

So, when are you going to fix it Jason?

cut some thin mdf and place it behind ur original trim that way still looks standard

sorry guys, and murcod esp. i havent fixed it yet due to no money, but im gonna do it all at once, my stereo should be here this week sometime, had to order it in, alarm, was delayed due to rain (no money) so yeah it will get done soon

i made some door trims for my old zuki out of masonite
thats what most door trims are made from

then i made another peice just smaller than the opening for the door trim to fit on so it still only stuck out the standard thickness yet was twice as thick

sold the zuk before i got to test it but i would gather it would be stronger

wellguys i have used 4mm ply and the smae cloth that was originially on the door, im quiet impressed only difference is I have had to screw through the doors to sttach, once i get full time work, im gonna change it to woodgrain and checkerplate but this is temp haha

Also anyone know on the feroza what colour is the power and which one is accessories? my test light died
