As I had some spare PVC pipe around I decided to try to make one. However as i had changed the carburettor to a 32-36 webber, I had to get a cover box built. So I did, finally started to put ittigether, one weekend lots of cutting PVC and presto !. Have not tried it as yet but it seems to only make a very small difference in power. I used 2.5" pipe and was thinking that 3" might have been better. But atthis point I would only change if it does not work.
One questiuon I have is - if the webber is not getting enough air what are the tell tail signs, as just today it would not start, plugs were foulded up, i was told and they (mechanic) says it is running to rich. However the pro who tuned it had it running better that ever. SOOOO is this plug fouling a result of the snorkel, new tuning or just happened naturally .

The weber conversion made a small difference in power?
Or the snorkel made a small difference in power??
The weber will make a noticable difference.. but the snorkel wont give you much of a power gain.. it is mainly to recieve cooler, cleaner air and help if you do any water crossings.
That snorkel top looks fairly restrictive..where are the air inlet holes?
Have you thought about getting a safari top for it?
Also, what air cleaner do you have on your carby?
