Turbo Conversion, 4M40

I have a 97 challenger with a 4M40 TDI engine. I am wanting to replace the engine, but due to my location I am finding it difficult to find another one. I have however located a 4M40 normally aspirated engine off a Delica. Can anyone confirm to me whether this engine can be used and fitted with the existing TD-04 12T turbo without too many modifications?

For those members who don't read other sections on OL, the question was also asked
here.
It would have been nice if a General Tech mod could have moved it to here, but we can't have everything...
Cheers,
Scott

i would imagine it would be all ok to swop turbo etc over, but remember seeing in engine specs that piston protrusion into combustion chamber is different on n/a engine. ie compression ratio will be higher on n/a motor. might need a turbo head gasket?

I had metioned in a reply in the general forum index that a turbo conversion kit had been developed in Aus in 1997 for the Triton Ute. The only replacement parts the article seems to mention is the obvious exhaust manifold and the primary exhaust. They had also used the Mitsubishi TD04 turbo charger. Does any one have any experience on the reliability of this system?
Thanks

The injector pump is different on a turbo motor it has boost compensation which supplies more fuel under boost.

Camshaft (slightley different timing and lift) and pistons (same compression ratio though)
