going by pictures of other peoples mq/mk's they have 5-6 leavs in a pack, i have 3... does this mean that some have been take out? or any other special reason? and is this the reason i have about 1" before the bumpstops... or are they just really sagged.

You will problly find that you have standard spring packs and they are just sagged. My standard leaf packs had 3 leaves in front and 4 leaves in rear.

also does it matter if one of them is slightly bent? and slightly uncurled at one end... (i hit the sid of a rut and bent it, also fawking my shocker) it astill drives fine, and this was about a month ago... it only has to last till i can afford a lift.

Nissan MK and MQ OEM front leaf springs came out with 3 and 6 leaf tapered spring packs. these packs are sometimes refered to as "parabolic". The parabolic profile relates to the cross section thickness, you will find your 3 leaf packs have thicker material in centre of spring. All aftermarket spring packs will be laminated spring packs, this refers to a spring that has a multiple of leaves layed adjacent to one another, just like a laminated piece of timber.

Depending on your vehicles mass and application, the multileaf you chose will have a relative spring rate that will suit your Patrol. Talk to a spring maker or a aftermarket spring supplier and discuss available springs and there rates.
