Outer Limits 4x4 Board

i know this have been covered 100 time but i am still as confused as hell
i currently have a stock standard 95 gq LWB with lpg under back it has the flarey gaurds but i dont want to cut the body

i was looking at a 4" spring and 2" body lift and running 34jt2 or 35 peds simex but will go to 33 if they dont fit. Will mainly be doing weekend club trips and desert and high country trips on longer holidays
No the $1000 question is this lift higher then needed what are peoples views on this and what spring and shocks do people recommend.

I have a 3" spring lift in my LWB GQ with a gas tank in the back and it clears the 33"x12.5" easy, except you need to change the back flares or they will just break off.

Do a three or four inch spring lift, and see how that goes. Depending on your luck, your chosen springs, and your rim offset, it might be enough even for the 35s. If it's not, decide whether you're happy with 33s (which will fit) or you need to do body lift as well.

Personally, body lift is something I would avoid. I just don't think it's worth the hassle, or durable enough for hard stuff.

email me for a photo of my patrol, it has flares taken off, EFS 60mm raised coils and shocks 33x10.5 AT's I find it has heaps of clearance for weekend stuff, touring and handles and tows well.

I personally dont like body lifts. its a cheap option to get bigger tyres, so why not cho the gaurd properly and keep the COG down and really much less hassles than BL any way. 4" will be fine for that size tyre with no choppage, leave the BL out. spend the $$ on decent panhards and drop boxes instead of castor plates

Yes that lift will suffice for 35's!!!!!!!!! cruiser off set rims would be of advantage.... this allows plenty of flex room..... you could go smaller just means less flex from the big girl......

body lift is not a big issue and just needs a few other mods to front rear bars, a couple of cables etc and steering....... can be a pain in ass if bolts rusty etc.......

and i actually had 1.5 body blocks and springs that sat about 4.5......... i didnt want to chop guards as i believed it had a negative impact on resale... body lidt would cost you $120 ish and a carton for ya mates

&SILBARS ARE A MUST unless you want the truck to look like a dinged up bucket o shite in a few years........
