F60 rebuild

A month ago I started fixing up my F60 Scat.
I redone the head on the motor six months ago and pull out the gearbox (5spd) for a complete rebuild a couple of weeks ago. It is on it's way back after costing me $2700.
The roof section was pretty much natckered so I removed it with a lot of drama (been removed before because of a accident or something). I managed to pick up a F50 (missing motor and some front panels) to replace the roof section with for nothing (the owner was going to dump it anyway). With a fair bit of rust to be repaired plus a new paint job, I hope to have it back on the road in two to three weeks time.
For a bit of info for Daihatsu people:
F20 and F50 vehicles have ribbed roofs while F60's do not for some reason.
The F60's have different roof support beams than earlier models. :?:
B pillar (next to the seats) is not bolted in the F60's unlike the F20's and F50's.

There are some slight differences in the roof section than earlier models with the F60's. The reason I can come up with is either to do with styling or to make it cheaper to build?
Go figure???
Hopefully to post pictures soon. Wont be able to post many as I do not have a website.

Model: F60RV-M

Its a daihatsu thing ay? Even if common sense says it would be cheaper to buy new truck, you just cant scrap the hatsu's

You planing on building it up to comp spec or just a weekend cruiser?

Here's a decent site to host your pics on: http://photobucket.com/

It would be cheaper to buy another truck, but then it wouldn't be a Daihatsu Scat! :P
It took me over 12 months to find this one a few years back.
It will be my main traveller, like going out bush, treks, etc...
I am going to cut the filler section from the F50 donar and put it on passenger side rear quarter panel behind the wheel for a second tank. To make it look factory. Later this year I'll rework the exhaust to put approx 50-60L tank behind the rear axle. Maybe a few more minor mods to the body while I am at it.
The F50/F55 would have the DG 2.5L diesel while the F60/F65 series have the DL 2.8L diesel . The F60 where the very last diesel Scat (83/84) before the Rocky (84-99?).
