modding an A/C compressor?

Hi there I was just wondering how hard it is to mod an A/C compressor to run air tools etc....

To answer your Q, it is pretty easy. Use either a Sanden 508, or some use Yorks.
I can tell you about the Sanden. About the only mod is to drill and tap a grease nipple into the sump bung, then grease it every few months or so.
Where you go from there, for your complete set up is up to you. There are heaps of threads about the conversion on this board. You will need a tank, then pressure switch, some way of activating the compressor, pressure relief valve, some use an oiler and scavenging system inline, ect, ect.
It can be a hassle to set up, and a lot of trial and error, if yours is not a popular vehicle, or not suitable for an "off the shelf" setup, but the effort is worth it, just for airing up tyres, in time savings.
