Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I've previously posted re the problem of my vehicle running on ( 03' TD6 GUIII).

The local dealer has had it back twice re this. The service manager stated that he replaced the wiring loom (or similar) for the fuel pump as per the Nissan Bulletin. Last week he had it back again re the same problem (running on after the A/C left on an irregular basis, the veh's now 70,000kms old).

The vehicle was booked in and left with him for the day but he stated that Nissan would not authorise them to go any further and they had meet their obligation as it was not a safety issue. Nissan's engineer's had been consulted and they stated there was nothing further they could do given the above.

I'm in Sydney this week and have contacted 'West End Diesel' for advice. They have advised that they will have a look at the vehicle and give a written report of their findings. I've contacted Nissan Australia Customer assistance and they said you pay for the report and we will consider it. I said, 'Gee thanks.' No obligations here and very non commital.

What do you think? Any similar experiences? Thanks guys, sorry its a bit long winded.

Are you saying that:

- this has been a persistent problem since you bought the vehicle
- they have never fixed it properly

and

- now that they've left it long enough without fixing it properly, they won't fix it at all?

Or is it that they don't think it was ever a warranty issue because it's not a "safety issue"?

Just by the way, it sounds like a potential safety issue to me in a whole lot of ways, especially if you want to take it through a car wash or park it in a closed garage.

Cimpboy you are right, its a persistent problem they have 'attempted to fix'. Because it's happening on an irregaular basis (not as often as prior to them attempting to fix it) they are satisfied and I'm not.

if they have never managed to fisx it then they are obliged to fix it, specially if you have paid for it.

Sounds like typical Nissan dodge the warranty since they were taken over by Renault.

i would line up a mate to test drive a new one from them meet him down the rd,, swap cars and suggest that it would be in their interest on swapping vehiles that they fix yours for the return of theirs..........

suggest you are not oblidged to pay $60 000 for a bucket/lemon....


perhaps over the top but extreme measure in such cases may be needd....

unless you make sufficient noise nothing will be done and you will be walked all over...
