What events will this be for? And what requirements are there for marshals? Do they need to be members of a club etc

Due to reasons beyond our control, the Melton venue has been cancelled. We will however still be having 2 theory nights, both at the Chadstone venue.
Sorry for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

It will be for all CCDA winch, nav type events and as already stated all marshals will need to be CCDA members.
As for all you rock buggy dudes, Cheezy is on the ball and will be getting back to me soon with the training required for the rock crawling events so that they too are acredited CCDA marshals.

For those that are coming along you will need to have an understanding of the rules. The CCDA manual can be downloaded from http://ccda.info/cms/index.php?name=UpD ... tit&lid=37
and it will be vital to know all things relevant to being a marshal.

I would have thought this would have appealed to more people. The training is open to everyone involved in the comp scene. Drivers and co-drivers are more than welcome to attend as it is a fantastic way of learning what the marshals will be looking for.
Come on fellas, lets support the event scene.

You never know your luck as we will be heading to Canberra, then possible Sydney later in the year. Who knows, if the need is there we may even get that far north.

I am interested but just can't make it to Chadstone or Thursday nights for the training. I am keen to get involved as I have had some experience running the Suzuki Clubs Rhino Trophy when it was on.

The training involes both theory and prac to get a certificate. In some situatiopns, we can organise something, and maybe for a few people (very few), can run a theory sesion before the prac on the 19th. If this makes it easier for you let me know and we'll see whAt we can organise.

The theory nights have been done and now it's time to have some fun with the practical day Sunday 19th. So far we have a few teams to cut some hot laps of a course we will set up so as we can pick the mistakes that are made. It will again be a fun day.
I've organised Coops, Sandy, Greeny, Wally & Benny Russell so far and will hopefully have some more by then. If you are coming down bring your 4bee as we may even organise a drive if time permits.

Guts
We only have planned the Feb session in Vic to date but are open to suggestions. With the Engel 4 round series we will be looking for more marshals to help us with the running of the events.
Are you and the Albury(ish) blokes keen to get more involved as a marshal in the CCDA winch events?

Yeah there would be a few from Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Shepperton and I`m certain if advertised abit there would be more hiding out in the sticks that want to do it aswell but just can`t justify going to the OTHER side of Melbourne to do it.

This is one thing where the CCDA over looks, there are people interested in this stuff that live in the country :D

I know 3rd rock has a good number of its members that are interested aswell. I`m certain that if CCDA can run something that we would be able to get some good numbers.

Guyts
We travelled to Willowglen last year and did training for some of the Sydney and Canberra members after they asked us to do so. Anything is possible. If you could organise a venue for both practical and theory in your area and get enough keen participants to attend then I'm sure something can be organised. It's a very busy year so getting a suitable weekemnd may be a problem.

There may be more but at this stage this is the only planned one. As for prac dates being on long weekends, they wont be coz both round 1 & 2 of the Engel series are on Labour day weekend and Queens B/day.
I suggest to you Paulo and any others that wanna help out with marshalling duties in Vic get along on the 10th or 11th of Feb.

Jonesy, for marshals already accredited, is it suggested that we attend on a refresher basis and are you guys looking at making it a
annual compulsory accreditation??

Once you are accredited you're done. However there is nothing stopping you attending as you will learn the new changes to the rules and be able to share comp experience as a marshal with others that haven't done it before. We will be working with stage managers before and during events to keep them up to date with any changes.
It's up to you, and anyone like you who is already trained, weather you turn up, but as always it'll be a good fun weekend with a bit of everything thrown in.

OK Jonsey here is the deal from my end.

Can the theary be done one weekend then either 1 or 2 weekends after that do the prac?
Land can it be in Forest?? or dose it have to be Private property?? for the prac
Can the theary just be in somebody`s big arse huge shed that even has a pool outside :D we can even fire up the BBQ and open the fridge as well as piss on the outside of the back wall of the shed
I can get at least 15 people and that is WITHOUT any that might want to come along from this site or the CCDA site if it was advertised on there.
What sort of dates can we get around March.
We could even include training for Ozrock events in the same course if this is to be needed.

I`m certain there are more things I`ll need to ask but that`ll do for a start.
